CrazyMill Chamfer for a clean
machined finish

With the CrazyMill Chamfer line Mikron Tool offers a full set of carbide deburring and milling cutters. Every individual model specializes on chamfering and deburring even in small dimensions. The four different tools complement each other and offer the user the ideal tool for every deburring operation, often as an alternative to thermal deburring or explosive deburring. Here the material to be machined plays no role. The tools are equally suitable for tool steel or aluminum deburring, titanium, copper, brass or stainless steel deburring. The long tool life is owed to the special carbide with high fracture toughness on the one hand and the high-performance coating used with all models on the other.

CrazyMill Frontchamfer is recommended for front chamfering and deburring of holes and edges. The edge deburring, hole deburring or even thread deburring is done with the sharp deburring and milling cutter accurately and without formation of a secondary burr even in difficult-to-access spots. With diameters of 1.0 mm to 6.0 mm (.0393" to .236") it is best used in the smallest machining applications. The 4 to 6 teeth provide for high surface quality and allow high feed rates.

CrazyMill Backchamfer is used for back deburring of edges, holes and threads. This means that it saves the part from being unclamped and provides for greater precision and quicker machining cycles. Depending on the application the user can choose between a long version with a usable length of up to 5 x d and a short version with a usable length of 3 x d. The latter gives the tool  greater stability and is especially suitable when it comes to smaller edge widths or shorter drilling depths. With its standard milling sizes of 0.36 mm - 5.7 mm (.0142" to .224") it is suitable for back deburring of holes from a diameter of 0.4 mm (.0157"). Its high number of teeth  (3 – 6 depending on diameter) and cutting geometry yield excellent surface quality without formation of a secondary burr.

CrazyMill Doublechamfer combines the possibilities and qualities of both prior tools. It can deburr front and back in a single clamping. Its small diameter (available from diameters of 0.9 mm/.0354" and up) allow the back deburring of holes from a diameter of 1 mm (.0393").  Depending on the application the user can choose between a long version with a usable length of up to 6 x d and a short version with a usable length of up to 3 x d. The latter gives the tool even greater stability and is especially suitable when it comes to smaller edge widths or shorter drilling depths. The following applies here as well: The high number of cutting edges (4 – 6 depending on diameter) provides for excellent surface quality.

CrazyMill Radiuschamfer, also called lollipop by many because of its special shape, is universally applicable due to its extra-large cutting range of 300° and even performs delicate deburring operations. Available from the ball diameter of 1 mm (.0393") and in a version of up to 4 x d, the tool reaches even difficult-to-access angles. It is suitable for front and back chamfering, for all possible internal and external contours as well as for intersections of holes and milling procedures or oblique hole exits. It is therefore a perfect alternative process to thermal deburring or explosive deburring.
